I know you Oregonians sing "Rain, Rain Go Away." Here in Utah, the song is something like, "Rain, Rain, Make the Snow Go Away." In fact, for its snow-melting qualities, we'll even sing things like, "Bring on the Rain." Here's a picture that I took about a week after we got home from Oregon. Our house has looked like this since before Christmas!

We got a couple of days of rain, and low and behold, the ice-encrusted driveway was finally ice and snow free! (Thanks to a little shoveling.)
This past weekend, Garrick and I headed down to St George, where he was speaking at a conference for principals. (Let me just throw in that it's supposed to be warm in St George, but it was only about 40 degrees while we were there. Bummer!) Anyway, while we were gone, it snowed here in Orem, and there was no one to shovel our walk and driveway. Our ice-free driveway is no longer. In fact, it's much worse than it ever was before. Now it's covered in old, crunchy snow that will be impossible to shovel. Once again I sing, "Bring on the Rain!"
