The best yet!!!

I know sometimes it's hard to move your seat along with you while your weeding so why no strap it on. Well you don't have to wish anymore. In just a few weeks you can try it out yourself. The latest and greatest deano invetion is here. A handy quick little snap of a belt and your gardening seat is stuck to your bottom! I don't know how he thinks of it but he does!!
Nothing is keeping this guy out of the garden this year!. Not even the hassle of moving his seat around. A little side note racoon number 6 was caught in the wee hours of the morning today!!! Go dad.

A Tribute to Mom

So, it's not too late for a tribute to mom, is it? Part of the reason that I've delayed in doing this is that I haven't known where to start. Mom has so many good qualities, and we've had so many fun experiences together, that it's hard to know what to write. But, I'll give it a try...

...I love how unselfish mom is. She probably went years and years without buying herself anything new - instead spending money on us. When she did get something new (probably a gift from grandma), she would always let us borrow it whenever we wanted to. She never said (like we did), "It's new and I haven't worn it yet," or "I'm already planning on wearing it tomorrow." She was 100% unselfish!

...Mom is an awesome cook. She can make anything - from chicken paprika to goolash made from leftovers in the fridge. And, the best part is that it always tastes good!

...I love that mom (and dad) taught us to work. They required us to do chores, rake leaves, and earn our own spending money. But, on top of that, they set the example by being such hard workers themselves!

...Mom is a great listener, advice-giver, friend, and role-model. I love her!

Running with the wrong crowd

So my crew of friends is deteriorating fast. Melissa started us off by getting into a car accident caused by the blinding sun and now is wearing a body cast for 3 months. A old man recently mauled into Britten's car that she owned less than one day. Jenny had back surgery on Monday and I have foot surgery scheduled in less than a month. Needless to say with the exception of Eric - everyone has recently or will soon be drugged up on high dosages of pain meds. Let me tell you...people that claim drugs don't affect you are full of it. It's not quite the same having friends on drugs. When will we all be back to normal? People have seriously warned Eric to not leave his house. With our track record he's doomed.

Don't need a nap????

Want to talk about a nightmare of a child to put to bed well cody wins the award. So last week I decided we will skip nap and early to bed!!! Sounds great. So 5:45 cooking dinner cody sits in the chair at table and I keep hearing a bump, bump. He's is falling asleep, and head hits the table then back into the chair. Nods off again hits the table. So I thought do you wake him up? or take a small risk he may sleep through the night with no dinner and put him down. So I gambled putting him to bed and 7:45 he's up and going. Lessons learned

here comes warmer weather

Now here we have a timeless look. The weather is getting warmer by the day. If it's too hot take it off. You maybe thinking well I still have yard work to do. Well cody has soved the problem you can still look good sporting rubber boots and just a diaper! I think it's pretty trendy

Baby claire

Since the ditto's haven't posted on the blog spot yet...???? I am posting a few picture of our dearest new addition. Pictures are from mothers day dinner at our our house!! Isn't she cute!!!

Everyday is Mother's Day

Thanks Stephen for the wonderful tribute to Mom. You are absolutely right - we have the best mom in the whole wide world! I've never gotten too old to call mom and ask what she thinks about something or what she would do in a certain situation. Mom always has something wise to say. I enjoy mom's outlook on life - she's a good, down to earth person who seems to get along with everyone. Mom is fun to be with - no matter what we are doing - making jam, shopping, reading, cooking, walking, driving to the airport - it's just fun to be with mom cause it's fun to talk with her - I never tire of that!!
Thank-you mom for all you've taught us and for the love we always feel from you!!!
love, Dawn

Watch Out

Well, lucky for me, I have something really fun to add to my list of things to finish before July 2nd - TRAFFIC SCHOOL!! Maybe you've all heard already, but I just got my first ever traffic ticket at an intersection with a red light camera. WATCH OUT for those. I got a ticket for turning right on a red light - I didn't think I could get a ticket for that - but I was guilty of not making a complete stop at that corner and the camera caught me. $400!!!!! Can you believe that? Now I'm kind of paranoid about intersections. It's like I slow down and stop when I think it's going to be turning yellow soon! Anyway, traffic school's coming along. I've completed 2 of 10 chapters and I've gotten 100% so far on my quiz's!!! It's kind of gotten me excited about going back to school again someday. I wonder if I could put my traffic school grade on my application???? :) Dawn

Father and Sons Campout

Carter and Jon had a great time at the Father and Sons Campout this year. Carter was pooped after a long hike. Carter loves to be in the outdoors and he loves to be with his Dad!

Pretty, Pretty Princess

This is what happens when you don't go to the Father and Sons campout. Carter actually really wanted Evan to come and he and Jon agreed (Jon reluctantly) to bring Evan. Later in the week, Jon talked Carter in to leaving Evan at home for one last year. He was really looking forward to having some one on one time with Carter. We had a great time at home. We went to the video store and rented Cinderella III, spent some time at the park, feeding the ducks and playing. Then, we went to Winco and picked out some quality treats like blowpops, candy corns and gummy bears. We made a delicious meal of macaroni and cheese with hot dogs in it and made a big bed downstairs to watch our movie and have a sleepover. It was great. And what was even greater, Evan decided after the movie that he wanted to sleep in his own bed.
The next day we played Pretty, Pretty Princess and Evan was already dressed up as Cinderella, even before we began! It will probably be good for Evan to go with Jon and Carter next year. :)

Mother's WEEK

STEPHEN:

So, I've had quite the adventure lately with the internet and cable at my new apartment. Basically I've been waiting for Comcast to come install it, and when the guy finally came he said I'd have to have permission from the landlord to have a cable jack installed in my room. So today I set up a new instalation date (the 22nd!! That's SO FAR AWAY!), but when I go to the landlord to ask for written permission for the installation, he tells me that we already pay for internet and cable (he told me when I signed that we didn't) and that all I'd have to do to get the internet is plug in the computer ethernet jack. DUH. So I've been dying for cable and internet the last three weeks, and all I had to do was plug it in. Oh well.

I was thinking that we could extend Mother's Day to include the entire week, that way we could all post some different stories about Mom, and reasons why we love her so much!

I love Mom because she used to dress me like this! Love the socks, Mom!! (seriously)

I would personally have to say that Mom is pretty much my best friend. When I told her I was moving into a new apartment, and that there was no one living in it, she volunteered to send me a box of miscellaneous kitchen gadgets that I might need (in the past I've always used what my roommates had, or what was left over from former tenants). So the other day I got a big box with a bunch of random kitchen thingys (including a pink, plastic salad tong! YES!), which saved me a bunch of time and money. Mom is a much busier lady than I am at this point, and I imagine her coming home exhausted from work, but still finding the time and energy to send me that stuff.

Other than that, she's always listened to my problems, even when they get repetitive, and seems to offer the best advice. I'll post another story or two later in the week.

Love you all,

Stephen

p.s. to avoid the words being crunched into the side margin of a picture that you post, choose to have the photo "Centered." :-)

You wondering WHAT ?????

I just wanted to start by saying many of us have lots of talents to offer others in the family. I thought everyone might be interested in dad's latest gift or talent. Dad is now a nocturnal raccoon hunter. So I thought why not have him teach us while everyone is here in June to hunt raccoons?
The picture above is the small window in the office a wire is rigged into the window and down the patio to hold this large box up in the air 4ft. A bowl of cat food taped to the concrete (so it can't be moved of course) and trapped is checked every 15-30 min through the night. When a critter is spotted the trap is dropped. Then a piece of plywood is slipped under. This handy HUGE box is probably 3 1/2 by 4 ft, and is creatively equipped with wheels to be wheeled to the car. So even those people with ms can easily load this into the truck at 3 in the morning and take them to the dump which happens to be right down the road from our house. The stray cat dad got Friday night Kelly said she would pay dad $5 to drop it at our house! But I think the dump is close enough. Anyone interested in a all nighter in June??????

Leaving my mark

On my trip to CA I thought I would tag a few things so people know where I've been. Pretty hot outfit huh? CA wasn't exactly warm during the trip. So much for heading south for warmer weather.

Helping Hand

Deyce and Garrick

I know that re-modeling could have the potential to really start hurting the pocket book. So cody has kindly volunteered to drive to utah to help! He is on the saftey patrol board. He will bring his own tools and saftery goggles. Other countries promote their young children to start working at young ages and I don't see why we can't do that in america? It may take cody awhile to get there in his car, but you can't beat the cheap rate he charges. Hope it helps.

Abandoning "Team Single?"

Abandoning "Team Single?" I don't think so. With a combined 60+ years of experience as members of "Team Single," Garrick and I still feel we have plenty to contribute. While we may no longer be members of "the team," we are definitely not abandoning you. We will be starting our own team shortly - "Team Matchmakers" - aimed at reaching out to all members of "Team Single" and helping them find that special someone. We think this will be a fairly easy job, after all, we know single people and you know single people. What more could they want but to be hooked up with each other? We're ready to get to work. If you know of any members of "Team Single" who could use our services, give us a call! (This includes you, Kelly & Stephen)

Big Foot

It's nice to know that I'm not the only one with big feet around these parts. This picture was taken on our road trip to CA (thanks mom and dad for letting us use the Amazing Aerostar). We pulled over at the BIGFOOT tourist trap. Britten suggested that I take off my sock and show my true colors next to the "real" thing. What do you think? Am I a close 2nd? I don't really understand why the doctor thinks I need surgery anyway.

Dad

Hi everyone!

Thought I would share a picture of the latest racoon. Cute little guy don't you think??

Mom's first

Help! Is this the place to do this? I won't make this too long, in case I'm not doing it right, I won't have wasted a lot of time. So now we have the "young marrieds with children, the almost married without children, the singles, and the "old married with out children in the home but with an increasing number of grandchildren. We are trying to beautify the yard before June. Home depot had a $100.000 yard makeover contest. If I won, which I didn't, because I didn't enter, I would have wanted a waterfall, the two trees taken down in the front(the ones with the spines), grass that doesn't need watered or mowed, some major remodel on the southside, surround sound in the back to drown out the traffic noise, a kennel for the growing cat population, a remodel on the 100 foot high fence on the north side, a cover for the unsightly wood pile, and a real potting shed and of course a greenhouse with heat and light. On second thought, if I won, the taxes on it would probably be about $25,000. I can't afford that so I guess I'm glad I didn't enter and saved myself from not winning. It's late and this makes no sense so I am going to bed. Thanks Stephen for doing this. It will be great. Maybe I can learn to send pictures. We have some recent pictures of the latest racoon capture. That makes 3 racoons and one stray cat.Love you all, MOM

You snooze - You loose

We got together with Jon's brothers the other day to play games. Jon was so tired, he slept the whole time. I tried to wake him up several times and then we decided it would be fun to paint his toes. This is just a warning for Sunriver! You never know what might happen if you choose to snooze. :)

Jon was a good sport about his toes - he thought it was funny, however, he was sure to remove the toenail polish before going to work on Monday. He said it'd be really embarassing to work out during lunch with red toenails.

Family Vacation and how Deyce is Abandoning "Team Single"

With the number of single kids in the family decreasing this year by nearly 34% (33.333333333% to be exact, er, ALMOST exact), it's time we rethink our annual family vacation.

Starting next year in 2008, Kelly and I are breaking off and forming our own Family Vacation Committee. Frankly, we're tired of twin beds with rocket ships and dinosaurs on the sheets. We're tired of nearly killing ourselves everytime we have to climb down off the top bunk every morning. The newly established FVC (Family Vacation Committee) will be planning a separate vacation for the rapidly depleting single population. We still haven't decided on a location for next year's trip, but we're thinking either the Canary Islands, or Costa Rica (this is as good a time as any to mention that the FVC is still looking for financial sponsors).

And Deyce, maybe you happened to stumble across the perfect guy . . . but what about LOYALTY? Loyalty to Team Single? I would be really mad if it weren't for the fact that I'll probably have to start doing laundry at your place again soon. So, no hard feelings?

We'll see you all in June!

Hey Everyone!

Welcome to our own little corner of the internet. I tried to have the address be something like, robbinsfamily.blogspot.com, robbinsnest.blogspot.com, etc. but almost everything involving "robbins" and "family" was already taken. So I decided that "the greatest family ever" would work too.

I know a lot of us have individual blogs, which I will try to have links to on here. The idea is that anyone can come on here and give us updates, post pictures, etc. If you have technical questions about posting pictures or whatever, don't hesitate to contact me at scurtisrobbins@gmail.com.

Enjoy!!
