unarmed for a while to try and get the cat used to going inside.
I tried putting the food part way in to lure a wary cat. The next morning the bowl was out on the patio and the food gone.

Then I tried to put the food a little farther back.

Then on April 8th I woke up and found a completely full can of cat food (on the patio) tipped over and spilled all over.

Large can of cat food (this picture was taken later for the story. No spilled food in this picture.)
On April 10th I woke up and found one of my squirrel feeders broken.By now it became apparent that there was still a Racoon problem. Probably a pretty BIG Racoon too by the looks of the damage to the squirrel feeder and the full can of cat food that was tipped over. The cat was still on the loose too.
I thought, "I need to build a different kind of trap." I came up with the following idea.
